Suzume, a 17-year-old girl, meets Souta, a young man looking for a door. Out of curiosity, she sought out the mysterious door and discovers that it opens to a different world, only to welcome disaster and destruction in hers. Now she embarks on a journey to help Souta to close the doors all over Japan in order to save everyone. Makoto Shinkai and RADWIMPS really know how to use music in creating the world and emotions of the story. With Japanese mythology and historical elements, they get to tell a common message differently that in the end leaves you emotional. Cinematography and animation are just beautiful yet intentional. (Wish I can say more about this but I might spoil) And dammit, I have nothing to say about the voice actors because I have a soft spot for Japanese VAs. Although, I kinda wish that there was more emphasis on Suzume’s feelings and thoughts about her past. There are scenes that do but they didn’t express enough for me to make the ending more im...

Finally, here's my evening skincare routine! I apologize for making you guys wait. The pandemic has really been tough on us, so I hope you'll bear with me.
Before anything else, I want to make it clear that I am not a skincare expert, but I have a passion for it. I have tried and tested different products that would work for my own skin. With that, take note that my skin type is oily, combination, and sensitive skin. If you're none of the above, then perhaps the products I'll be mentioning may not be for you.
If you're just starting out, you may be wondering what's the purpose of having an evening skincare routine. Well, dear fellow, if you've read or watched my morning skincare routine, it is meant to protect your skin from the environment such as the sun's rays and pollution. So, our evening skincare routine is meant to repair, replenish, and revitalize your skin after such a busy day.
Without further ado, here's the list of products and steps that I used for my everyday evening skincare routine:
1. Double Cleansing
Wipe your makeup and rub off the dirt off your face with Cleansing oil, then completely wash it off with a Facial Cleanser.
What I use: Cleansing Oil - Innisfree Appleseed Cleansing Oil, www.beautymnl.com Facial Cleanser - Beachborn Witch Hazel Wash, www.beachborn.com Drugstore Alternative: Liquid Neutrogena Pure Mild Facial Cleanser (drugstores like Watsons, Department stores, Mercury Drug)
2. Toner
After your face is newly washed, it's time to put back up those PH levels.
What I use: Beachborn Witch Hazel Toner, www.beachborn.com - targets any existing acne and also prevents them.
A cheaper alternative will be mixing 2 parts water with 1 part apple cider vinegar. If you have a bottle of Apple cider vinegar in your pantry, oh girl, you'll be refilling for daaaaayss! It'll last you perhaps a year or more.
3. Essence
This is the key to my smooth glowing skin. My holy grail!
What I use: COSRX Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence, www.beautymnl.com(or Watsons)
- Really leaves your skin smooth and glowy
- Has a similar core ingredient to SKII Essence
4. Serums
Essences and serums really depend on the issues you want to target on like hyperpigmentation, acne, etc., or things you want to maintain in your skin. Me currently, I want to target my acne issues and increase the elasticity of my skin. In other words, slow down the aging of my skin.
What I use:
The Ordinary Lactic Acid, www.beautymnl.com
- lighten and smooths skin
The Ordinary Retinoid, www.beautymnl.com
- anti-aging!
Although, I have to use these products separately or 30 minutes apart since they're both active ingredients. Using two products with active ingredients at the same time is a no-no, so use carefully.
5. Spot Treatment (optional)
If you have acne popping up like me, then get those spotting treatment products! What I use truly does the job after a few days.
What I use:
Beachborn Witch hazel Extract, www.beachborn.com
- clears my acne after a few days
6. Cream
Normally, I don't use creams, but if it's a treatment that works well on your skin, then go for it, honey! My Beachborn Ant-Blemish cream really works well with the spot treatment.
Other Recommendations: COSRX Centella Blemish Cream, www.beautymnl.com
7. Moisturizer + Face Oil
Last step to lock everything in! If you've seen my morning skincare routine, then you know this is not new. I tend to combine moisturizer with products that are hard to spread or drag my skin like sunscreen and Vitamin C. In this case, Facial oils tend to drag my skin and are hard to spread.
What I do is I place dots of moisturizer on each side of my face and neck (forehead, cheeks, chin, and neck) then apply drops of oil on each side, mixing it with the moisturizer for easy spread.
Human Nature's Sunflower Beauty Oil is my holy grail! Keeps my face smooth and soft!
What I Use: Olay Moisturizing Cream (drugstores like Watsons, Mercury Drug and Department stores) Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil, www.beautymnl.com
Other Recommendations: Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream - applying this on my skin feels heavenly!
SPECIALS
Okay. Other than the everyday evening skincare routine, we have to deeply cleanse and add some more nourishment once a week. If you don't want to panic and forget when to do this, assign a specific day to pamper and another to deeply cleanse.
For me, I like to deeply cleanse my skin every Sunday and pamper my skin every Wednesday. Sundays anyway are when I can reset my week like it's a fresh start, so you've got to declutter your place and deeply clean your skin. I assign Wednesdays since it's in the middle of a busy week, so might as well calm my stressed-out skin while I'm at it. I deserve it and you deserve it!
b. Clay Mask (after exfoliation) Beachborn Pink Clay Mask, www.beachborn.com
Wednesdays: Pamper Day
a. Exfoliate (after double cleansing)
b. Face Sheet Masks (before moisturizer and facial oil) I don't have a usual brand that I go to. Anything from drugstores to the Face Republic and Skin Food will do. According to dermatologists, sheet masks are made to hydrate your skin. So I guess, those manuka honey masks and whatnot don't generally mean they come from honey.

So, that's it. That's my evening skincare routine. I hope you didn't get too overwhelmed. Don't worry, when I started my skincare journey, I was as well. I got the hang of it after researching and doing some trial and error. You're really going to spend some money and time to get the right products for you. As my mother would say, Beauty is an investment.
Some of you guys on Instagram asked me to do a review on Beachborn. I'll be doing that soon. Stay tuned to my Youtube channel and in this blog.
Other than Beachborn, what other products do you want me to review? Can you recommend to me some local brands?
